Day 1
Get to know your trip leaders and fellow participants then get ready to climb and belay for an 8-10 hour day at the local crag: Grapefruit Rocks. Learn the basics of rock climbing and enjoy stellar, open views of the Alaskan boreal forest.
Day 2
Now that you have learned how to climb the ropes, let's spend a full day rappelling after a beautiful and popular hike at Angel Rocks.
Day 3
Find out what it feels like to have your life in your backpack as we spend the day getting your legs a workout hiking at Table Top Mountain.
On the drive to Fairbanks, discuss proper gear to be taking while out for the overnight stay in the Delta Range.
Day 4
Hopefully spot a moose, beaver, or caribou down the the scenic Richardson Highway past Delta Junction to our destination point: the Gulkana Glacier. Fielding Lake Recreation Site, a campground near the glacier, is where we will set up basecamp, and explore the surrounding area on foot.
Day 5
Wake up, breathe in the mountain air, pack up our belongings, and strap on some crampons to hike on the Gulkana glacier. But first, cross a suspension bridge.
Later, return to Fairbanks.
