Gulkana Glacier
Day Hike Overview
Approximately 170 miles southeast of Fairbanks , hidden amongst the Eastern Alaska Range mountains, lies the majestic Gulkana Glacier. Join us as we drive the scenic Richardson Highway past Delta Junction and into the mountains, possibly spotting a moose or caribou along the way.
Once parked, begin the hike with a leisurely stroll along the river to a suspension bridge crossing College Creek. As we continue to follow the river, we gain elevation and approach the Gulkana Glacier. Following a wet river crossing, we will strap on crampons and explore the toe of the glacier.
